I've been thinking that I should expand my intellect through the mathematical fields in order to further develop my philosophical and metaphysical talents. Math has always intrigued me but there is something about dealing with too many factors in an equation as well as having symbol-phobia that inhibits my progress in those fields. It is really just understanding how the equations and formulas come together in the greater scheme of things, and how to replace the symbols with what has actual meaning (symbols are really just a mental heuristic). I think that is why I was decent at calculus and not horrible at geometry, and yet I was terrible at Calculus.
It is really just a matter of how to apply such things towards what you care about. It wouldn't hurt to learn more, at the very least. I feel that mathematics (or at least some parts of it) is highly relevant towards what I want to accomplish.
But I think I'm going to read some more psychoanalytic works in the meantime.
