(no subject)
Jul. 18th, 2013 11:41 amI wrote a long poem today and posted it on my tumblr. I have sort have gained a small following, or at least more people are paying attention to me. I'm not famous enough to be one of the most popular poets but I am famous enough where those who are take my poems seriously.
I read that poem to one of my friends today and she said that she didn't like it. She did tell the person who was with her that I write good poems, though.
I can share that poem, actually. Here it is;
The Fallacy of Love
Don't love an institution
for they eventually crumble
don't love an ideal
for those always fade away
don't love one another
for God knows
that will never last
and most importantly
don't pine for a significant other
for not even your own mother
can love you
more than yourself.
It is depressing, I know, but I quite like it myself. I got the inspiration for it while smoking cigars.
The same friend read the philosophy paper that I wrote two days ago and she said that it is good, but wants me to write on another subject because she is seeing a trend. I dare say that there is one, yes, mainly based on the Incompleteness theorem. I'm pretty sure that I will write about the philosophy of unknowing next time; that will be a break.
