Jan. 5th, 2014 12:33 pmLast evening I had this random thought that popped up in my head. After thinking about other thoughts that spun off from it, I discovered that it was an awesome book idea.
So now I'm writing again. I really want to write this book. I have already wrote most of the outline; it is sort of strange because I know almost exactly what is going to be in it, from point A to point Z. That has never happened before; all of my other attempts were either aborted beginnings or scattered scenes that didn't really follow a pattern. Either way, they never got beyond 10,000 words.
But I actually have a beginning, a middle, and an end. That is something to work with.
I knew that I would be able to write again eventually. I just had to be patient, and wait for inspiration.
The story is basically about a transsexual woman who starts off being very naive, kind and friendly, but ends up going to prison for something out of her control. The stuff that happens to her in there eventually warps her, and when she gets released, she starts doing things that gradually go from being slightly disturbing to becoming the biggest threat to society.
Basically, how a good person can become evil and manipulative, under the conditions imposed by others who either would want someone to suffer needlessly, or wouldn't care.
There is a lot of flak behind this book. In fact, I think that it would take another book (or at least, several essays) to explain how this whole scenario and its psychological and philosophical implications are legitimate. People just think that if you become evil, then you already were in the first place, and therefore you don't deserve to be either understood or sympathized with. The purpose of the book is to challenge that notion.
So as such, I'm very motivated. I had two beers to celebrate last night, but oh well. I didn't get drunk and I can still have beer so long as I only have it two or so times a week.
